This place is advertised as a 24-hour veterinarian, however when I arrived with my pet that needed immediate care they informed me no doctor would be in until the evening and sent me elsewhere.I regret not calling ahead, but I think it's incredibly deceptive to pretend to be open 24-hoursEDIT: I had to take my kitten here to be put down shortly after the above visit. He was too sick. The veterinarian and staff were compassionate. They gave me as much time as I needed and I'm grateful they were there. The situation above is the only reason why I am not giving 5 stars.

just nowIf I could give a ZERO I would. It's been two years now since my dog died. After spending almost 5k just to end up with the death of my fog related to the negligence and incompetence of the vet. He never listened to me when I initially took her in for what I thought was a bit from a spider or snake... the told me it was a "hot spot" and didnt need to run and test and she probably has pneumonia and put a cone on her head. Well she did in fact get bit by something three days later I took her in they rushed her back in a medically emergency and said she needed blood.... instead of sending me to another vet to get the transfusion. They kept her and she died. They did not provide care needed and the vet comes up to me saying he doesnt k ow what happened he was outside smoking a cigarette and couldn't figure it out" ... I said I told you a week ago I think somthing posipinus bit her but you refused to check and do any work up... I walk in and they are performing bag valve resuscitation... obviously shes dead and has three tubes full of blood ... I was like what are you doing bagging her?!?! Shes gone and this is in humane and you obviously DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOURE DOING! Very devastating my dog was only 3!!! Not to mention my mom took our family dog their three years prior and they said they think he has cancer because of a lump on his hip.... my mom took him to another vet and they told her this dog does not have cancer he is just muscular here..... idk where these vets got their license to practice but they are just killing one beloved pet at a time.... just the other day my friend told me she lost her dog and the vet was the reason when I ask which vet my jaw dropped when I found out it was the same vet!! And this is 2 years later.... still killing one animal at a time and charging people thousands of dollars for it. To this day I am still TRAUMATIZED by the event. And being in the medical field I can tell when a medical professional is incompetent and negligence and is very dangerous!!!DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

I will never go back to this place again Dr Brown was the rudest and uncaring vet I have ever met.My pet was not feeling well and he treated us both very poorly. For a vet to argue and talk down to me that is unacceptable.... my money was taken but my pet and I left without any help or actually knowing what was wrong with him.We went to another vet and this vet did not at all see any of the things Dr Brown diagnosed my dog with in the first place Town and country did lab and xrays when he should have known to do ultrasound for better visual and readings but again it was about getting more money out of my walletVery very disappointed with Dr BrownSee a different vet if at all possible

We have taken our cats to town and country for the past 20 years and always had great service until probably the last five years but chose to overlook it until today. We took our 13 1/2-year-old cat to the vet because she had something that look like a seizure on Saturday but we weren't sure until it happened again on Sunday. We were going to take her on Sunday to the vet but decided against it because there was no appointments available and she seemed to be doing better. We did wind up making an appointment for February 11, 2019 at 8 PM. Now We know they have a policy that says that schedule appointments may be delayed because they are an emergency care facility as well but after an hour and 18 minute wait, I went and asked to see how long it was going to take and was told by a non-compassionate receptionist that it would be another hour. By this time, it was about 9:00 PM and my cat had been in the cat carrier for an hour and my wife and I have to wake up early to go to work the next day. So My wife asked to speak to the manager, Miguel, who happened to be the vet tech for the clinic. My wife complained that it had been over an hour wait and he told my wife they only had two vets. She asked why the clinic doesn't staff more vets if they have an emergency clinic as well. He informed her that it was not something he could take care of but it was the corporation's fault. He said that there was an emergency with a dog in respiratory distress which we did acknowledge having seen the owner and the dog come in a little after we had come in for our 8 o'clock appointment. He told my wife that he could be giving oxygen to the dog if he wasn't talking to her who was complaining about the wait. So then She told the vet tech that essentially he's blaming her for wasting his time when he could be taking care of the dog. So a few minutes later they called us back and honestly my wife couldn't speak to the vet tech for very long because she was very upset at the whole situation. We did get seen by the vet and had lab test done and found out that the seizure may have been caused by an underlying UTI and possible G.I. infection. We did not leave the vet office until 12 AM Tuesday morning. That means an 8 o'clock appointment which at the latest we could've been back maybe by 10 PM with the delay, actually took us four hours to complete. By the time we left the vet, the packed waiting room had dissipated and we were the only ones left in the clinic. We told each other that they purposely let us sit and wait for the test which normally takes 45 minutes. They were retaliating against our complaint earlier. We are so disappointed in how this clinic is being run now, because we used to rely on them for services for all our cats. Now we will be exploring the world of mobile vets and see if that will be a better option for our geriatric cats. It disappoints us, Dr. Spillers, that you have let your practice fall so far when you all used to provide such great service in the past. Our question is that as we look at the reviews for the other vital pet clinics in town, they seem to be doing well regarding customer reviews. They are getting 4-5 stars from their customers, but you and your clinic seems to be satisfied with subpar reviews. We will be researching and seeing if there is a way that your clinic can get investigated by the state for bad business practices which can result in an animal, beloved pet, to die needlessly. Stay away from this place at all costs!

Save yourself the trouble of even visiting this office. They did a biopsy on my husbands family dog and were ready to charge 00 to do a surgery on his knee to remove a tumor without even letting us know (or even them knowing probably) that it is in such a horrible spot, so they would have to amputate his leg and even with that the tumor will return because of the type of tumor it is. We took our dog to a different location (Becker off I-10) to get a second opinion before we finalized anything. And they were the ones to tell us all this information. As well as have multiple specialist doctors talk to us about the exact situation of his leg. Save yourself the worry and stress, as well as the robbery.

The nurses and docs are nice. I just can't get over how a phone call is more important than the patients and clients in front of the desk. This place goes from dead to a line of people in moments while the staff is still on the phone.

I could write a book, but I'll give you the short story. My girlfriend and I took our healthy, full of energy 4y/o poodle in for a routine teeth cleaning; he comes back with two top teeth that "fell out" and a cervical neck injury so bad that he still is in crate rest a month later. He can't even leave his cage to eat or drink water without yelping. He is since under care at another vets office where MRI and surgery are our next options if this doesn't clear up in two weeks.

My dog was diagnosed with early stage parvo and I was completely devastated. Dr. Humad and his staff were so patient and helpful during this difficult time. They answered all (thousand) of my questions. They provided me with all options available to help my sweet puppy (4 months). My fiancé and I selected to do the at home treatment which was easier than I thought and my sweet Elliot pulled through. We are on day 5 of treatment and he is eating and drinking on his own. He is fully active and through all this he became potty trained and crate trained. I guess him being lethargic and wanting to be alone helped him get comfortable in his crate. I'm super happy we came here!! I hardly give 5 stars but the dr pretty much saved my dogs life. ;)

STAY AWAY!!! FIND ANOTHER VET ASAP!!! MANAGEMENT FAILS TO RECTIFY POOR PRACTICES!!!Town and Country Hospital had my cat under care for four days and did not identify my cat's chronic kidney disease. My cat was not provided with the means of proper treatment, and the additional days of illness may have caused irreparable damage to my cat's kidneys. My wife and I effectively gave Town and Country Hospital ,000 to prolong our cat's death. I am convinced that he would have died if I had not taken it upon myself to give him food and water by syringe and take him to a different hospital.

I brought my kitten to this vet by recommendation from my regular vet after he did not eat for over 24 hours. He turned out to be totally fine health-wise, just stressed out. I'm giving this practice 3 stars because the front desk staff was very unprofessional. Not towards me, but they were complaining about another client in front of everyone in the waiting room. The vet techs also did not seem to relay information to the vet effectively, or the vet did not review their findings, because we had to give the same information at least 3 times which was very frustrating.

I've taken my dog and mom's dog here several times in the past 3 years for emergencies and every time have had excellent medical care for our pets. The front desk staff are knowledgable and very helpful, the pet techs and veterinarians have always been professional and listened to our concerns. On one visit I saw my dog get bit by a snake, but I couldn't tell what type of snake it was. My usual vet clinic that I live closest too was closed and the nearest 24hr pet care was here. As soon as I explained the problem to the front desk staff, they quickly got a veterinarian who came out and assessed my dog. Luckily no puncture marks were seen, they observed no swelling and said it looked like she was fine. And she was! They didn't charge us that day since nothing had really happened. Must of been a garter snake. My mom had her dog hospitalized here for a few days and she received calls throughout the day letting her know the status of her dog and how things were going. I've had nothing but good experiences here. The vet I take my dog to regularly is closer than this emergency hospital but I'm so glad they exist! If I lived closer I'd use this place as my regular.

This place has completely forgotten their vet Hippocratic oath. A woman just brought in a cat hit by a car. It was dying and suffering. She wanted them to put it down so it wasn't suffering. They refused to help unless she paid 5. They told her to leave and take the cat..to take into ACS in the morning. Their vision statement is "compassionate pet care"...with dollar signs in their eyes. Even Becker Animal hospital will put down an injured, dying animal for free. I have taken one of my pets here before. Now that I can see their true motivation, I will never be back. NO STARS.

THEY DON'T DESERVE THE 1 STAR ON THE REVIEW but I am obliged to do so, in order to review them.BE AWARE OF THE GOOD REVIEWS. This hospital does not deserve the 4 stars they are getting on Google or Facebook. This place does not love and respect pets, and THEY HAVE NO MERCY ON PETS. My cat died because of the negligence and incompetence of doctors and technicians working at this hospital. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR BABIES AT THIS PLACE. They will have no regret while proposing you euthanasia for your babies. Will talk to you about pet dignity, while they have no dignity or work ethics whatsoever.PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL.

I had a wonderful experience with them. Not only are they wonderful vets but they are extremely friendly and responsive. I had a scare for my dog and the receptionist stayed on the phone with me to walk me through everything to make sure I felt reassured. I recommend them, and praise their employees for their kindness and professionalism.

My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Berkli, was triaged within five minutes of arriving at Town & Country on Bandera at Prue Road after being struck by a six foot snake hiding beneath a bird feeder. My usual vet clinic did not have anti venom and in case this was a poisonous snake referred me to T&C. She was examined and observed for almost two hours with a comprehensive list of symptoms to watch for when I took her home. Friendly, organized, professional and no Emergency Fee!

After a death in the family, we needed to board our dog, unfortunately he needed an update to his bordetella vaccine in order for us to leave him. Our regular vet was not available that day, so I made an appointment with Town & Country to get the shot.I have never met a veterinarian more rude and condescending than the woman that walked into the room that day. Had it not been an emergency situation, I would have walked out the door.If you're in a jam with a pet emergency or just need basic services, I could not for the life of me recommend them.I had hoped it was an isolated incident, but after returning to town and looking at the other reviews, it seems that I am not the only one left with a sour taste in my mouth.

My mother and I are so very grateful for the emergency services for all of our dogs; we've made our rounds through most doctors and support staff through the last few years and I cannot praise them enough! It is obvious to me they care deeply for animals and their people clients. I was quoted to expect possibly 00-4000 per dog for severe pancreatitis but they were thankfully in and out of there for 2 nights, 00 for both. They could've charged me the original quote and I wouldn't have known the difference. (P.S. Do NOT feed dogs people food!!!) Special shoutout for Alana for finding 3 in extra discounts I also wasn't expecting. Grateful to you allUPDATE We are VERY touched by the sweet sympathy card for our little euthanized pet parakeet; Thank you sincerely Town & Country staff!

We were new in town and needed to find a vet for our fur baby. My in-laws recommended T&C, and we've been there ever since. Even though we purchased a home only 5 miles from Castroville, we make the trek to T&C on Bandera because of the wonderful care our baby gets. Dr Bunning is awesome, as are the majority of their vets. Their staff makes an effort to remember your name and your pet's name, which brings a certain level of comfort and familiarity. Although they can be extremely busy at times (it's a 24 hr emergency vet), they make every effort to get you in as quickly as possible. They do not charge extra for 24 hr service, either!

We had a great experience with these folks. Our little Phoebe is alive today because of them. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating when we came to visit her while she was ill. I am extremely grateful for their services from the highly qualified vets to the techs who managed her IV's and even the front office staff...everyone was professional and kind. Thank you again!
